ASTM A575
When surface conditions are less important, merchant-quality steel bars will suit the project. These are often used for steel floor or roof joists, walkways, concrete forms, and railings since they may contain surface irregularities. Because ASTM A575-conforming steel bars are considered a lower-quality hot rolled steel, they are not recommended for forging, heat-treating, cold-drawing, or intricate machining as the steel could be compromised.
ASTM A576
When the end-use requires rotation, twisting, and bending, our special-quality structural steel bars hold up to the stringent regulations of ASTM A576. We inspect and prepare blooms and billets with grinding, chipping, and scarfing, as well as perform ladle and check analysis on the bars.
